Privacy policy
Last updated 7 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Ideas Factory (ideasfactory.site) collects, how it's used and the choices you have. Ideas Factory is run by Oshi Okomilo, who is responsible for your information.
1. What we collect
- Account details: your email address, password (stored securely by our sign-in provider, never in plain text), display name and any short bio you add.
- Ideas you submit: the listing itself, any images and documents you upload, and any private details you choose to share only with people who enquire.
- Enquiries: your name, email address and message when you contact a creator, and the replies in that conversation.
- Contact messages: your name, email address and message when you use the contact form.
- Newsletter: your email address and the categories you pick if you sign up for the monthly email.
- Usage: anonymous counts of how often each idea is viewed and saved, and privacy-friendly page statistics that don't use cookies or identify you. To stop abuse of our forms we briefly keep a one-way, salted hash of the IP address a form was sent from; the address itself isn't stored, and these records are cleared after a day.
2. How we use it
- To run your account and show your ideas.
- To reply to messages you send us.
- To pass enquiries to creators and let both sides reply without sharing their email addresses with each other.
- To send the emails you've asked for: sign-in and password emails, enquiry notifications and, if you subscribed, the monthly ideas email.
- To review listings, keep the site safe and deal with reports of misuse.
We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
3. Who can see what
- Published ideas, your display name and bio are public.
- Drafts, ideas waiting for review and private details are only visible to you and the site administrator.
- Your email address is never shown publicly or given to the people you exchange messages with.
4. Services we use
We use trusted providers to run the site: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), Vercel (hosting and page statistics) and an email delivery service to send our emails. They process information only on our behalf and under their own security and data protection commitments.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account and ideas until you delete them or ask us to. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, and you can do that from the link in any email. Enquiry conversations are kept while either side may still need them, and form-abuse records are cleared after a day.
6. Your choices and rights
You can update your profile and ideas from your dashboard, unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, and ask us for a copy of your information or for it to be corrected or deleted. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to your data protection authority.
7. Cookies
We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in and the site working. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Changes and contact
We'll update this policy if what we collect or how we use it changes; the date at the top shows the latest version. To ask anything about your information, send us a message. See also our terms of use.
